Desktop Assistant
Problem Statement:
How might we make joining meetings and reaching out to contacts easier directly from DA, rather than relying on Outlook?
Before
Large Financial Company’s internal desktop assistant (DA) had low engagement. Most employees only used DA to glance at who was in a meeting when they joined the call using Outlook. Because DA was anchored to the toolbar, users found DA difficult to use and thought it looked like a constant notification.
After
Implemented accessible assistant to engage with to join meetings and reach out to contacts quickly. Redesigned DA now is more similar to the Mac’s Stickies and users referred to it as a planner.
Learnings
Consider the online-to-offline experience. Users engaged with contacts and meetings using both phones, outlook, and DA.
Initial discovery audits are essential to get a sense of our cross-functional partners. Product, Development, Sales, and UX stakeholders were identified quickly for alignment.
Next Steps
Launched the redesigned DA based on initial feedback from 20+ pilot users and rolled out to the entire company.
Continued to iterate based on feedback from employees.
